The Dodge side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural...

Love this commercial. Combines 2 of my favorite things.

I can’t say I’m a fan of all of the combined commercials for the new Star Wars, but that Viper looks mean in black. FCA has really done well with all their commercials.

Does anyone else think it’s childish when cars try to look evil/badass? Motorbike riders do the same thing, to the same effect.

Missed opportunity. Should’ve had Luke as a Charger and Vader as a Mercedes AMG E-Class.
Charger: “You killed my father!”
E-Class: “No, I am your father.”

When marketing teams do it yea. But the Viper doesn’t try to look badass.

Well the Viper ACR’s wing is called the X-Wing.

Nah you’re right it doesn’t usually, I rather like it.
That’s why they painted the one in the video black-on-black-on-black. Another trick people use to look badass.

Like Milky said, they didn’t really
try
to make it look badass; it just does. When creating the first Viper, Bob Lutz wanted the Viper to be the modern Shelby Cobra of the time. Model anything after a Cobra and it’s just going to be badass.

Dodge’s PR has been getting pretty good lately. They’ve managed to really reach out to more enthusiasts through the likes of Roadkill. Combine a battalion of sinister machines, prowling downtown streets to the tune of The Imperial March, tieing the whole thing in with the anticipated release of Star Wars: Episode VII, and you’ve got a recipe for a brand builder. Good job, Dodge. You’re PRing right. Everybody knows your name and it’s generally associated with positive thoughts.

I agree. And the best thing is, they have the badass cars to back up their marketing!

I think you’re right. I think it’s best when cars aren’t trying to look badass, but when they just are. The Cobra is sort of cute in a way, but the long hood and bulging fenders say otherwise.
